3. Nature and scope of advice
Wealth Health provides regulated financial advice to retail clients across four product categories:
3.1 Mortgages and residential lending
We hold accreditations with the following major NZ lenders: ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Westpac, Kiwibank, SBS, Co-operative Bank, Resimac, Avanti Finance, and Heartland Bank. The exact panel changes from time to time and the current panel is available on request. We do not recommend lenders outside this panel.
3.2 KiwiSaver and managed funds
We provide advice on KiwiSaver scheme selection, fund choice within a scheme, contribution rate, and Prescribed Investor Rate. We work with the following providers (current list available on request): Generate, Milford, Fisher Funds, Booster, AMP, Westpac, ANZ, ASB, and BNZ KiwiSaver schemes.
3.3 Life and health insurance
We provide advice on life cover, trauma cover, total and permanent disablement, income protection, mortgage repayment cover, medical insurance, and group cover. We work with the following insurers (current list available on request): AIA, Asteron Life, Chubb Life, Fidelity Life, Partners Life, nib, Southern Cross.
3.4 Investment and retirement planning
We provide holistic planning advice, retirement projections, estate planning, and direct investment advice where appropriate. Direct investment advice is generally limited to portfolios under a defined size; larger portfolios are referred to a specialist wealth manager.
3.5 What we do not advise on
We do not provide advice on cryptocurrency, direct share trading, derivatives, foreign exchange trading, commercial lending, business insurance, or fire and general insurance for residential homes (we refer these to specialist brokers). We do not act as a custodian and do not hold client money.
4. Fees and remuneration
4.1 Mortgage commission (paid by the lender, not by you)
Lenders pay Wealth Health an upfront commission on settlement, typically in the range of 0.55% to 0.85% of the loan amount, plus a smaller annual trail commission of around 0.10% to 0.20% while the loan remains with that lender. The exact rate depends on the lender and is disclosed to you in writing before you sign anything.
If a loan is refinanced or repaid in full within 24 to 27 months of settlement (called a "clawback" period), Wealth Health may be required to repay some or all of the upfront commission to the lender. You will be told before settlement which clawback period applies to your loan.
4.2 Insurance commission (paid by the insurer, not by you)
Insurers pay Wealth Health an upfront commission when a policy is placed, typically in the range of 100% to 200% of the first year's premium, plus a smaller renewal commission of around 5% to 10% of each subsequent year's premium. The exact rate depends on the insurer and the product, and is disclosed to you in writing in your statement of advice.
If a policy is cancelled within 24 months of being placed, the insurer may require Wealth Health to repay some or all of the upfront commission.
4.3 KiwiSaver and managed fund commission
KiwiSaver and managed fund providers pay Wealth Health a small annual trail commission, typically in the range of 0.10% to 0.25% of the funds under advice. This is paid by the provider out of the fund's management fee and does not reduce your balance.
4.4 Planning fees (paid directly by you)
For full financial planning work that is not covered by commission, Wealth Health charges a planning rate of $750 plus GST per hour (illustrative, to be confirmed before publish), or a flat fee agreed in writing before any work begins. Typical engagement sizes range from a single $750 review to a full retirement plan in the $3,000 to $6,000 range. You will always see the fee in writing and sign off before the work starts.
4.5 Other remuneration
Wealth Health and its advisers receive no other material remuneration from product providers (no soft commissions, no overseas travel, no equity, no referral fees from third parties). Any incidental benefits (occasional product training, modest hospitality at industry events) are recorded in our gifts and benefits register and are available for inspection on request.
5. Conflicts of interest
Wealth Health is paid by product providers (commissions) and, for planning work, by clients (planning fees). Commission income creates a potential conflict between the adviser's interest (recommending a product that pays commission) and the client's interest (the best product for the client, which may pay less commission or none). We manage this conflict in the following ways:
- We disclose the commission payable on every recommendation to you in writing, before you make a decision, including the rate and the clawback period.
- The commission rates across the lenders and insurers we work with are broadly similar; commission is not a meaningful tiebreaker in lender or insurer selection.
- All advice is documented in a written statement of advice that explains why the recommendation is right for you, not why it is right for us.
- Craig Coupland personally reviews every recommendation made under the firm's licence as part of the firm's internal advice quality assurance process.
- Wealth Health does not hold an equity interest in any product provider, and no product provider holds an equity interest in Wealth Health.
6. Reliability and continuity
6.1 Professional indemnity insurance
Wealth Health holds professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the firm's size and scope of advice, with limits that meet or exceed industry standards for a small financial advice firm. Insurer and cover details are available on request.
6.2 Business continuity
Wealth Health is a firm of multiple authorised advisers, not a sole practitioner business. If Craig Coupland is unavailable for any reason (illness, leave, or other), client relationships are held jointly by the firm and another authorised adviser will assist. The firm holds a documented business continuity and succession plan, reviewed annually.
6.3 Adviser conduct history
Craig Coupland has held a regulated financial adviser status continuously since 2008 (Authorised Financial Adviser regime to 2021, FAP regime from 2021) with no conduct issues, bans, censures or undertakings on file. The firm's FAP licence is held in good standing with the FMA. Both can be independently verified on the FSPR.
7. Internal complaints process
If you have a complaint about anything Wealth Health has done, we want to hear about it. Most issues are resolved by a phone call. The formal process is:
- Tell us. Phone Craig directly on the firm's main number, or email via the contact page. Put your concern in writing if you can.
- We acknowledge. We will acknowledge your complaint in writing within two working days.
- We investigate. Craig (or another senior adviser if the complaint relates to Craig personally) will review the file and respond in writing within twenty working days with our findings and proposed resolution.
- You decide. If you accept our proposed resolution, we implement it. If you do not, you can escalate to the external dispute resolution scheme below at any time.
There is no fee to make a complaint. Making a complaint does not affect your other rights and you can use the external scheme even if you have not used our internal process first.
8. External dispute resolution
Wealth Health is a member of the Financial Dispute Resolution Service (FDRS), the FMA-approved external dispute resolution scheme for financial advice firms.

FDRS is an independent service. Their decisions are binding on Wealth Health and free for you to access. You can complain directly to FDRS at any time, before or after raising the matter with us.
9. Privacy summary
